TechMan Recycling Partnership

Is 2019 the year we finally start seeing the demise of plastic? With Government passing legislation to ban all single use plastics, it is likely more manufacturers will come up with ideas on how to package their products without needlessly polluting the environment.

Technology is a particularly bad polluter, not only in the manufacturing process, global shipping and the "need" to change your device every 5 minutes, but also the end product - what do you do with your device once it has reached the end of its life?

Here at TechMan we already try to encourage customers to buy from manufacturers who use more recycled material in their production - e.g. Dell and Lenovo, whilst also keeping the specs of the machine as the customer requires.

Reuse is always preferred to recycling and where a customer has finished with their product but it is not ready to be scrapped, we will wipe its data, replace parts that need replacing (from scrap machines), and get it ready for its next user. These machines are then donated to community groups for distribution to consumers who aren't in a position to buy new.

Where the item is at the end of its life it is time to recycle, and TechMan has now partnered with E-Waste Services Wellington to effectively manage that process. TechMan is a local collection point for E-Waste and will come to you to collect some items.

We can recycle the following E-Waste: old computers, laptops, tablets, mobile phones, routers, cables, printers, projectors, TVs, Monitors and everything and anything that might be considered "Tech".
